Report lost or found animals to GIHS and we will display them below to assist in reuniting owners and pets. Please note that when animals are brought into GIHS, they are immediately logged into our system as “new arrival” and will display below for a minimum of 72 hours. These animals are NOT available for adoption; please do not inquire about adoption until these animals move to the adoption page.

Important Notice
Texas law states that after a stray pet goes 72 hours unclaimed, ownership falls to the pet’s current caretaker (a.k.a. GIHS) and the pet can legally be placed up for adoption. It is of utmost importance that you check frequently for your lost pet!
The animals below are NOT IN CUSTODY at the shelter.
These animals have been reported lost by their owner within the last 90 days. If you see one of them, please bring them to the shelter or contact animal services for assistance getting them home.
