Parade site registration – $30

NOTE: a limited number of extra shirts are available. Late registrations are not guaranteed a shirt. No additional shirts will be ordered.

BALCONY PARTY TICKETS

A CAT’S EYE VIEW BALCONY PARTY TICKETS

This party allows you to view all three family parades beginning at noon.
Includes one drink ticket and complimentary light bites.
Unfortunately, NO PETS are allowed in the building.

Parade Route

Registration/Check-in is at 21st & Harborside.

Lineup will be along the harbor to 20th St. At 1:30 pm the parade will proceed down 20th Street to the Strand, travel west on the Strand to 25th St, turn left to Mechanic, and travel on Mechanic back to 20th street, across Harborside and disperse. There will be water for humans and pets at the end of the parade. Consider the weather and bring additional water for your pet as needed. Please bring bags and clean up after you pet as needed. NOTE: If you feel your pet is tired or distressed, you should drop out immediately.

The Krewe of Barkus & Meoux Parade will begin at 1:30 pm On Sunday, MARCH 3, 2019

Check in and onsite registration will begin at Noon on 21st and Harborside at Pier 21.

Pets and their humans are encouraged to wear their Mardi Gras finest—or any fun outfits that make them feel good. A costume contest is planned prior to the start of the parade from 12:15—1:00. Winners will be announced and ribbons awarded prior to the start of the parade.

Remember: Animals must be current on ALL vaccinations.

All pets must be on a lead, no longer than 6 feet. No retractable leashes, no exceptions. No aggressive pets or females in season. Control must be maintained at all times

Beads

Beads will not be provided and are not required. If you choose to throw beads remember this is a long parade. Plan a way to carry and distribute beads in a way that will be safe for your pets.

NO CANDY MAY BE THROWN

Candy may be dangerous to pets if swallowed

RESCUE ORGANIZATION

In the spirit of Mardi Gras, the Galveston Island Humane Society invites animal rescue organizations to participate in our parade. A representative of the organization should contact GIHS at info@galvestonhumane.org for more information.

In consideration of the furtherance of your purpose, objectives, work and in considera-tion of your permitting of me and my pet/ pets to participate in this event, on behalf of myself, my animal(s), parents, heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, we hereby waive and release any and all rights and claims at which I/we may incur against you, the municipalities through which we travel as well as any other person connected with the event, to include the GIHS and any Member of the Board of Directors or Advisors, their heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, for any and all injuries which I or my pet(s) may suffer while taking part in the event(s) or results thereof. All photographs taken in conjunction with the event are the property of the GIHS and may be used without expressed permission. No Refunds will be provided on registration due to non-attendance or weather. GIHS reserves the right to deny access to anyone deemed unacceptable to walk in the parade for the safety of all participants.
